Purging Some Creative Energy

So, I’m not free from the bad episodes. They still plague me occasionally. Maybe once every few months, it’s hard to tell (I don’t keep track of that closely). What I can say is that I had been trying off and on for several weeks to write up a blog post and then got paralyzed a paragraph in or so every single time and I would give up. I tried to write through the… episode(?) last time and sort of had an ugly downward spiral. A little bit of time has passed and I don’t feel as negatively as I did. I still have flickers of anxiety, tiny little sparks of… something that’s fighting against me. A lifetime of rejection, maybe? It’s not fun to feel like your own psyche is attacking yourself and that it’s something you have to deal with every day. I guess in a dumb poetic way, how would this not be part of my life? I’m dealing with chronic inflammation and an overly sensitive immune system that will attack itself. Sometimes I think about Keats and how, in 12th grade English, our teacher went on a small but impassioned lecture about his brilliance. She was singularly convinced he was the best poet to have ever lived, and that he had “been taken too soon.” Was he, though? The best. I want to mediate on my relationships with writers, novelists, and poets alike. My craft ancestors. I find my contemporary seniors to be, without fail, disappointing. Just about any time I idolize a writer and say I want to write like them, publish stories like them, they inevitably do something that sours my tongue, and I am reminded that we shouldn’t put people on pedestals. I used to feel safe drawing inspiration and venerating writers from the past, but they, without fail, have all been racist or had very questionable relationships with young people.

I am meditating on the lack of exposure I had as a student to writers of color and from other countries where the majority were not white. A younger version of me definitely would have been resistant to learning about anything “other” if it didn’t pertain to my immediate interests (I was already resistant to things that weren’t based in fantasy or were favorably historical), but the current version of me has been re-exploring writers I was exposed to in my college years. Present me is thankful for the exposure, but also very overwhelmed by what I could read next that would serve as an aspiration. A few months ago, I think I had sworn off finding new writers to aspire to be like because of the aforementioned reason, but also because of my nature, as someone neurodivergent, I learn best by mimicking and imitating, and I can’t help but feel that would lead to a lot of cultural appropriation on my part. I don’t want to take space away from others in an industry that already favors cis-white men, so I feel like I’m trying to walk a very fine line between reflecting a more realistic world and not stealing space so to speak. I’ve known for a few years now I’ve wanted sensitivity readers for my work and that’s something I’ve had to think about budgeting for.

I had, a few weeks ago, maybe a month ago or so, some minor breakthrough with the story. Sort of. At least I felt that way. Right now, I can feel myself resisting talking about this. I want to take a break, go sit somewhere cooler, and regather my thoughts. I don’t have pre-programmed eloquent words sitting at the tip of my fingers as I type this to feel good about what I want to say. (Maybe I am dehydrated.) Or have I already mentioned all of this? I can’t remember and I am trying to resist the urge to go back and read older entries (since that seems to be a contributing factor quelling my steam to write). Anyway, the point is, I want to talk about this.

To give a full historical scope of this, the story I’m talking about was initially based on a World of Darkness tabletop game I was in with people I considered my friends. By the time I finally divorced characters from people, I was shakily trying to reconstruct the scenarios I played through. So, like, the initial story went something like this: a fallen angel gathered a group of supernatural creatures to see who would make the best soldier in a war against God. The game that story was based on petered out because the storyteller didn’t know where he wanted to go with things, so I had to figure out an ending and segue into the next part of the story. So, the fallen angel, pretending to be a demon, attempts to gather people for (in hindsight, this might have been better suited as a weird sort of heist story) this test; he had them make deals with him (through charm, trickery, or straight-up force) so he could give them special gifts and then… things were just supposed to happen? I say that as if I didn’t draft out the entire story. I got the flash drive instead of being lazy and trying to recall things by memory.

  • Chapter One
  • 2019-2021: Daniil meets Jacob Mann, a shady individual posing as a lawyer. He proposes a deal with Daniil to get him out of prison, but he has to come work for him. Daniil is resistant, but Jacob in fact shows him that he is a demon. Upon revealing this, an angel is sent to smite both Jacob and Daniil–one for being a demon and the other for being a human who has been made aware. In a chase through the prison, Jacob almost lets Daniil be hurt, just to prove his point. Daniil, sobered by the experience and the knowledge he’ll never be safe again, accepts the deal.
  • (The only difference in the 2019 version and the 2021 version is that Daniil is trans.)
  • Chapter Two
  • 2019: Daniil finds himself in San Francisco with Jacob: they are hunting for a hunter–Aaron. Aaron is currently staying in San Francisco, looking after a local black magic/monster problem that is affecting the homeless folks on the streets or has been making people disappear (one of many numerous problems). Daniil through magic gets Aaron’s unholy weapon confiscated/makes all of his cards be declined, something. Just a series of bad luck for Aaron. He still tries to continue to do his work, but he fails at taking care of the problem. Daniil is also supposed to tail Aaron as he goes through things. Unfortunately, Daniil is really shitty at this, and Aaron confronts him towards the end of the day when this takes place. Aaron needs a replacement weapon and begrudgingly asks Jacob for a replacement. Jacob, in his smarmy-ness offers to give him a much better weapon, if he’ll do work for him. Aaron agrees. Aaron takes the weapon and leaves. Jacob tells Daniil to keep with him, just to make sure it works out. Aaron manages to pick off the monster/magic users with Daniil’s “pathetic help”. He takes him out for drinks afterwards. They fall asleep. Next day Aaron is gone, Jacob hustles Daniil awake. They catch Aaron at SFO, Aaron is ready to dip out, Jacob does his bit.

  • Ken has been on the run from the pack he left after the death of his father (killed by his uncle, but no one knows this). He’s moved up to Sequoia National Park and works as a caretaker. He is quite content spiritually with the work. He is flirting with several women that work at the visitor’s center, but he’s particularly sweet on the girl in the gift shop. During the day, someone comes in requiring about things they heard out at their camp ground, just some spooky things. Ken feels uncomfortable about this. He decides he wants to check it out/also wants to meet up with a ranger buddy out that way. He gets out to the area, does *some werewolfy* things. Has dinner with his buddy. At night, he hears the things. Ken and ranger buddy go investigate.

Ken goes and takes care of the problem. He is invigorated; decides to run away after the fact to just go out and be a wolf for the full night. Day – Daniil, Aaron and Ken are making home in LA. Jacob has rented out a floor in his building in Glendale; where MannCo is currently stationed. Jacob returns; talking about why everyone is there together. It is some really dumb, convoluted plan; like starting a PI service, or something. Daniil knows what’s up though. They need to get some more members, however. Aaron tension here–he’s not about to let some other poor soul get suckered into this mess.
  • Chapter Four (Night)
  • 2019: Celeste, the secretary of LA, has been fighting off ennui, she at a new club where a vampire source says the club has members disappearing. She’s initially there to investigate what it is. Celeste solves the mystery rather quickly; she sees Daniil and Jacob as she leaves. There’s a moment between Celeste and Jacob—they lock eyes. She is a bit oblivious they’d held eye contact for a long time. When she arrives home, a letter is delivered to her home, instructing to meet somewhere at a specific time. She is cautious, but ultimately too curious. She puts it down in her planner.
  • 2021: Ken walks off his injuries in the city, look for food. Because of Ken’s presence, the small group of LA werewolves have been put onto him. They do feel their territory, Griffith Park and the Angeles Forest, is threatened by Ken because of his lone appearance, approximate location, and that their alpha female is expecting. Ken meets the Alpha, Thorin, his obviously pregnant mate, Noira, and his brother, Baryn. They all size each other up; Thorin was definitely about ready to lay down the law on Ken. Ken stands up for himself, using his alpha magic unconsciously. Thorin recognizes this. They come to a stalemate. They chat. Ken, undeniably spooked, decides to be vulnerable to Thorin about his father, and how he’s very new to all this wolf stuff. He was unable to turn up until a few nights ago. Thorin leaves with the invitation for Ken to come visit them and get to know the pack more. Ken shakily agrees to take them up on it.
  • Chapter Five
  • 2019: (Day) Daniil POV, settling into things at the new HQ. Daniil and Ken (after he’s had his fill of the wild), are making home in LA. Jacob returns from a meeting with Sergei, by making a deal with him to get the gang a steady supply of work while they set up the business–paranormal investigative services. Aaron arrives, non-plussed. They still have several more members to collect, a werewolf and seventh son are not enough. “What about that vampire?” / “Why do you think I met with the leader?” (Jacob is also very excited and anxious for the meeting later that night). (Night) Jacob and Daniil get Celeste into one area to meet (inside Daniil’s hummer; he’s driving). Jacob offers a proposition of working together, sort of quid pro quo, and Celeste will get paid. Celeste declines, she’s got her hands full with the court. As she goes to leave, the group is ambushed (by something that angels have put on them to fuck things up). They meet up with Aaron and Ken (who got hurt; still new wolfy; he lays on Celeste’s lap, soaking up being the hurt animal and she’s sympathetic). Things are rough between Aaron and Ken—they clash a lot. Celeste still declines working with them at the end, and goes on her way. Jacob seems off put, more than usual about being told no.
  • 2021: (Day) Daniil plot – Local Magic users. Daniil, taking a cue from Ken, decides to investigate others of his ilk. Aaron joins him, to keep him out of trouble because he’s still new to his magic. There is an affectionate tension from Daniil to Aaron, but for Aaron, it’s fatherly? These magic folks somehow kind of suggest Jacob isn’t who he says he is. This tips Aaron off. Aaron renews his efforts to get out of the bargain–and free Daniil too. (Same Night) Celeste, as assassin of LA Vampire Court, has been fighting off ennui. She wants to maintain her status quo of comfortable life, but it seems tedious. Something is happening that is upsetting her delicately maintained life, and she must eradicate it now. She’s initially there to investigate what it is. (Harvey is introduced here as a photographer).
  • Chapter Six
  • 2019: (Day) Ken walks off his injuries in the city, look for food. Because of Ken’s presence, the small group of LA werewolves have been put onto him. They do feel their territory, Griffith Park and the Angeles Forest, is threatened by Ken. At night, Celeste meets with Sergei. He gives her the wonderful news he wants her working with Jacob—just to keep a proper eye on things. She is his most trusted and most loved member of the court, and most capable. She is shocked and quite upset. She combats him on this—does Sergei owe Jacob something. Sergei gives her the details following up on the haunting in Los Feliz.
  • 2021: Chapter Establishes Billy as a character, and maybe some world building. (At Night) Jacob and Daniil get Celeste into one area to meet (inside Daniil’s hummer; he’s driving). Jacob offers a proposition of working together, sort of quid pro quo, and Celeste will get paid. Celeste declines, she’s got her hands full with the court. As she goes to leave, the group is ambushed by angelic hitmen, there to kill Daniil and imprison Jacob. (These are nameless angels). Car chase. They meet up with Aaron and Ken (who got hurt; still new wolfy; he lays on Celeste’s lap, soaking up being the hurt animal and she’s sympathetic). Things are rough between Aaron and Ken—they clash a lot. Conflict, fighting, blah, blah, blah. Daniil’s hummer gets wrecked. Celeste still declines working with them at the end, and goes on her way. Jacob seems off put, more than usual about being told no.
  • Chapter Seven
  • 2019: (Next Night) Friday, a revenant, desperately wants revenge. She is angry, uncontrolled, haunting a house in Los Feliz. MannCo arrives. Jacob offers her a body. She agrees. As they part separate ways. Celeste is contacted by a vampire to head to ________ for a disturbance. Celeste, quite grumpy, and this was why she declined Jacob, leaves to go do preliminary investigative work.
  • 2021: Jacob, Daniil and Aaron go meet the Vampire Sovereign of LA.
  • Celeste meets with Sergei. He gives her the wonderful news he wants her working with Jacob—just to keep a proper eye on things. She is his most trusted and most loved member of the court, and most capable. She is shocked and quite upset. She combats him on this—does Sergei owe Jacob something? As Celeste leaves, she is stopped by Virgil. He wants her to head to LA’s underground service tunnels for a disturbance. Celeste, quite grumpy, and this was why she declined Jacob, leaves to go do preliminary investigative work.
  • Chapter Eight
  • 2019: (Day) Daniil plot – Local Magic users. Aaron joins him for some reason. These magic folks somehow kind of suggest Jacob isn’t who he says he is. This tips Aaron off.
  • 2021: Celeste investigates. Discovers Billy. They share a conversation; Celeste suggests Billy meet with Jacob [Maybe having Billy present will free her from needing to assist with Jacob].
  • (Same Night) Billy POV. Billy arrives with Celeste to hear Jacob informing the group they need to hit up a goblin market. A hook that Jacob has been informed that the angelic hit squad is looking for something in the Goblin market and that’s bad for not just Jacob, but everyone else (that has made a deal with him; if the bad thing happens, bad things happen to them by extension; everyone is a little grumbly about the arm twisting). Aaron only agrees–because clearly if he can get to it first, maybe he can solve everyone’s problem. Jacob seems utterly delighted to see Celeste and Billy. There’s another *moment* between Jacob and Celeste that even Billy sees; he begins to feel unsure. Jacob informs Celeste of the new venture and she’s expected to attend. She makes a comment about having to check her schedule; she’s not going to play ball. Jacob turns his attentions to Billy, invites him away, they depart as Ken uselessly tries to flirt with Celeste trying to make her stay. She leaves. The remaining group: Daniil, Ken, and Aaron are left to their own devices. Jacob offers him neat things. Magic things happen; gives us a glimpse into what happens to Celeste in the upcoming chapters. Billy has to recover for a few days.
  • Chapter Nine
  • 2019: (Early Night) Celeste, resumes her investigation. Discovers Billy. Celeste suddenly has the recollection Jacob is offering favors. She’s so moved by Billy’s plight; she thinks Jacob can help him. Takes him with her to introduce them. (Same Night) Ken POV –Regroup on the Ken/Werewolf plotline for internal thoughts and dialog, and he’s adjusting to newness. Ken isn’t so hot on Friday. She gives him weird vibes, but he mostly explains that away with her actually being a spirit and since he’s like an animal, animals are sensitive to spirits. He likes Daniil, not crazy on Aaron, and is unsure on how to feel about Jacob. Celeste arrives with Billy in tow. Jacob seems utterly delighted. There’s another *moment* between Jacob and Celeste that even Ken sees. Then Jacob goes off with Billy, leaving Daniil, Ken, Aaron, Friday, and Celeste to their own devices on solving whatever the threat is. That said, Billy does seem very reluctant to leave Celeste. Celeste is icy—she’s not working for them. Ken still uselessly tries to flirt with her.
  • 2021: New Night; Daniil POV. Jacob and Co, minus Billy, are waiting for Celeste outside of her apartment. They go to the market. They look for the item–they are on a time crunch before the angels show up. The item is Jacob’s grace? Maybe? Celeste recognizes the people in cages as being trafficked for the fair folk. They get the item; they take it back to MannCo HQ. Jacob is starting to act very sweet on Celeste. Angels show up, nonetheless. Angels attack MannCo. The building needs to be evacuated. Jacob shoots Celeste amidst the chaos. Daniil and Ken are shocked—why did he do that? Aaron does show concern over Celeste. Jacob expresses that no one should tell Billy. The retire to a safe house in West LA. Daniil has a heart to heart with Jacob, trying to sus out if he’s really what he presents himself to be, and what was up with Celeste. Jacob had “divine inspiration” after making a deal with Billy on how to persuade Celeste to their cause.
  • Chapter Ten
  • 2019:  Ken POV – Something about Jacob being in danger/goblin markets, idk. Something evocative of when the Chinese vampires kidnapped the group for some reason—more angelic hitmen?
  • 2021: Celeste awakens with a soul. She is unaware of what happened to her, just remembers the utter betrayal, and that something feels horrifically off and wrong with her. There are several messages waiting for her on her answering machine and notes shoved under her door. Over the course of several days, won’t see or respond to Jacob’s attempts at communicating—especially through Ken or Daniil or Aaron. She is too livid and upset to even entertain the idea of it. On the fifth day, she discovers several gifts on her doorstep and a summons to Sergei she must attend to. She’s still adjusting to some weirdness. On Celete’s way to Sergei, she runs into Jacob and co. She’s gone back to being icy, and very resistant, but Sergei implores them to work together. She begrudgingly returns to MannCo (new safe house). Sergei, being egalitarian, splits up Celeste’s work: assigns MannCo several prestation’s for them. (They divide themselves up; Daniil and Aaron [who is also not thrilled to be working for a vampire] take one, Billy wants to go with Celeste, Ken tackles an issue alone.) She also runs into Billy, who has been bestowed neat gifts by Jacob; Billy has no idea what happened to Celeste.
  • Chapter Eleven
  • 2019:  Daniil POV.
  • 2021: Celeste and Billy take one task. Jacob comes along though, still trying to make up to Celeste. Jacob and Celeste get to talking; Jacob also desperately trying to keep Billy from finding out. He gently informs her it was necessary, what he did to her. Reveals, if not enigmatically, she can go out in daylight. They are on the hunt of a boogieman, and they happen to see him absconding with a child. (This upsets everyone, but Celeste and Jacob in particular—something they feel in common). Jacob gets kidnapped in trying to accost the creature.
  • Chapter Twelve
  • 2019: Celeste POV (until she gets shot; also Jacob behaves a little strange towards her, almost sweet?). Jacob shoots Celeste amidst the chaos. Daniil and Ken are shocked—why did he do that? Aaron does show concern over Celeste. Friday (POV) seems to have a moment of lucidity between her brooding anger: recollection of her death, and a heap of empathy for Celeste—this does cause some rocky tensions between Jacob and Friday.
  • 2021: Celeste and Billy are shocked that Jacob just got taken so easily—their demonic benefactor. They return to HQ, where Daniil goes into panic mode. Aaron is very pragmatic about it: they need to go rescue Jacob and the kids from fairies, clearly. Everyone is a bit shocked by Aaron, simply because Aaron’s been doing everything to work against Jacob. He reiterates the importance of the kids. It’s near morning, Celeste has to retire. Before she goes to bed, she does try the sunlight on herself. (Billy POV) Remaining MannCo make a plan to help Jacob–which requires Daniil to turn to the magic users he’s met. Daniil plans to contact his witchy friends the next day. Ken decides to meet up with the pack to ask for their help.
  • Chapter Thirteen
  • 2019: Celeste awakens with a soul. She is unaware of what happened to her, just remembers the utter betrayal, and that something feels horrifically off and wrong with her. She is livid, upset, and won’t see or respond to Jacob’s attempts at communicating—especially through Ken or Daniil or Aaron. POV goes back to Daniil or Ken or Friday. Take your pick for the adventure/plot furthering.
  • 2021: Daniil finds out he must get help from a magic user familiar with the Otherworld, Matilda. Ultimately, they plan to help Daniil magic himself to the Otherworld, and from there Daniil can open a path for the rest of the group. With Matilda’s help, she can help get Daniil to other side, but it’s no guarantee that where Daniil will end up, will correspond with where the rest of the group is. Matilda also tells Daniil that to get out, they need help again, but it has to be someone familiar with Faerie. She knows someone, and she’ll ask for this help.
  • Chapter Fourteen
  • 2019: Celeste awakes to several gifts on her doorstep and a summons to Sergei. She’s still adjusting to some weirdness. On her way there, she runs into Jacob and co. She’s gone back to being icy, and very resistant, but Sergei implores them to work together. She begrudgingly returns to MannCo. Sergei, being egalitarian, splits up Celeste’s work: assigns MannCo several prestation’s for them. Daniil and Aaron. Friday and Billy. Celeste and Ken. Jacob comes along though, still trying to make up to Celeste.
  • 2021: When Ken initially appears, the pack is a bit cautious. Noira has to spend time essentially denning, spending time in a more wolfish form. Thorin won’t help, unless Ken agrees to bring them a sacred object, from the Great Wildes, for the upcoming birth. There is a weak place in between the worlds, at a spring in the national park. Thorin would have been the one to go, but he wants to stay with Noira, and Ken is more than capable of doing it. Fetch it, and then they’ll help him with his request. Ken barely scrapes by, not without getting bit and messed up by the creatures in the Great Wildes. They also get some help from Ken’s werewolf acquaintances in helping them navigate to the spot where Daniil can create a path. They make the plan for the following day’s night, when Celeste is able to join them.
  • Chapter Fifteen
  • 2019: Continuation of previous chapter. Jacob and Celeste get to talking. He gently informs her it was necessary, what he did to her. Reveals, if not enigmatically, she can go out in daylight. Somehow, related to the activity Jacob has been stirring up, re: the goblin market, child have been disappearing. (This upset both Celeste and Jacob—something they feel in common). Celeste, Ken, and Jacob come up with a plan. Jacob gets kidnapped.
  • 2021: It is the following night; they’ve got everything ready. Plan is put into motion. (Mathilda tells Daniil that because time is weird in faerie, it will be impossible to tell when their “friend” will come, but he’ll make himself known.) They get into the Otherworld. It affects them in varying degrees. They regroup and think about how to best find Jacob and the children. The group traverses through the Otherworld, looking for Jacob. They run into complications.

Aaron is very pragmatic about it: they need to go rescue Jacob and the kids from fairies, clearly. It’s near morning, Celeste has to retire. Before she goes to bed, she does try the sunlight on herself. Remaining MannCo get help from the local witch-folk Daniil’s been talking to in regards to how to prepare themselves for the Otherworld. They also get some help from Ken’s werewolf acquaintances in helping them navigate to the spot where Daniil can create a path. They make the plan for the following day’s night, when Celeste is able to join them.
  • 2021: More complications. But, it leads them to Jacob. Jacob, whose been living it up as a dragon, is surprised to see them, at all. The group is quite furious, especially Celeste (who suddenly has the realization she might be attracted to Jacob). Jacob at least tries to make up for it by delivering unto them all the knowledge he’s collected re: missing children. Jacob explains roughly that the children were taken by a bogieman. (In an aside, Celeste attempts to test the waters with her realization, Jacob is equally surprised and confused by the fact he too feels very strongly about her.)

  • 2021: The Seelie Court- Fairy Courts. They get out with help from Lukav. Jacob, towards the end, “Oh, right, we needed a changeling, too.” (This comment, does wig out the characters who were perturbed by the trafficked humans). They leave the Otherworld.

He’s still hung up on the fact he has special feelings for her. They decide, temporarily, to shelve the conversation. He is exhausted and she needs to return home.

He tries to shrug it off, downplay it and everything, but he eventually is forced to retire to HQ. Celeste returns to her apartment; there have been messages left for her. While they were away in the Other World, Sergei had been captured and imprisoned by a group of vampires (his enemies), that left an ankh as a symbol. She goes to investigate. As it turns out, these enemy vampires have demands, and the responsibility falls to Celeste. As she investigates and tries to get to the bottom of this, seven assassins/brawlers appear and go after her relentlessly. Celeste pleads with MannCo—since this was somehow inevitably Jacob’s fault, that they go with her to Chicago to look for Sergei. Jacob agrees, hamming up being sick. Celeste/Jacob romantic tension.

  • 2021: Ken goes to the werewolves to thank them. Ken returns to the LA pack, very grateful. Personal crisis has been averted. Thorin gets to talking to Ken about Jacob; questions him why he’s associating outside of his… species, essentially. Ken tries to avoid the subject, but Thorin presses. Noira goes into labor. As a pack, they have their own midwife. It’s a family affair, Ken discovers that while he met the core pack, the pack has extended families through LA. This gives Ken weird, missing-family vibes. Ken doesn’t feel like he belongs there, and wants to dip, but Thorin and Baryn keep him there, challenging him on his feelings. Ken finally decides to have a moment of vulnerability, and finds himself welcomed. High, happy emotions, that just as Noira has her child, Ken is welcomed into a new family. That was going to be the crux of the first book. Both the first 2019 version I was envisioning, and then the 2021 version I was working towards (before plottr and my computer had their episode), including the cutting of one character, Friday. The reason I’m sharing this is that after my minor breakthrough and the decision to deconstruct the sort of Bible fanfiction the story had, few elements of this original story are returning. In trying to move away from the Bible fanfic vibe, I’ve had to re-examine who Jacob was—the fallen seraphim of chaos. There is, to my understanding, a bit of Catholic trauma imbued into the character that I lack as someone not raised Catholic, and if God is really no longer in this story, and there are no fallen angels that want to save humanity from God, then Jacob is no longer Jacob. His desires and motivations are no longer the same. So, Jacob Mann has become Richard Havik. And that’s all I really got. Ken and Billy are to become foils of one another, and Valentine and Celeste are to be foils as well. Daniil is still involved in the plot. Perhaps the person everyone is trying to save, but I don’t think Aaron will make it, much like Friday.

Vampires will look different, but that was something I had been working on in 2021, along with werewolves. There are now also sorcerers, hedge-riders, and cunning folk. I’m still trying to figure out changelings since I want to reserve that specific name for fair folk who take the place of humans, and I have to come up with a new name for humans who have been taken. The Fair Folk are also going through a change—I’ve been researching and pulling from first-hand descriptions of who these enigmatic beings are. By the time I’m done, there will be a lot more going on behind the scenes in the universe, so I’m just hoping people will enjoy the world-building. I’ve notes running in three places at once—discord, notebooks, and oblivion. I would like to share them, but only when they have more coherent thoughts behind them instead of just… bullet point notes. Or maybe I will post them anyway as noncoherent bullet points.
