About

Hello, I’m the Writer. This is my personal-professional blog related to my creative endeavors. I’ll be talking about a lot of stuff related to my practice of writing and my creative process, and maybe other stuff that’s important to me as a novelist-in-work. I have a few publications, namely in a few academic literary magazines, and my Master’s of Fine Art’s Thesis.

I live with four cats, one girlfriend, and a patio full of plants. When I was in 5th grade, my teacher told me I should be a writer and I haven’t considered doing anything else since then. I like spooky, dark, morbid things, going to post-apocalyptic events, watching people play horror games, and dressing up in costume to make my maladaptive daydreaming more fun. Usually, I live in my own world, but sometimes I come back here to leave some writing and speak cryptically before going back to the void.

I like to believe that either something will kill me or make me funnier.

The Projects

Urban Nights

My MFA Thesis was my first adventure into writing a tabletop game. I had a decade of experience in playing tabletop games like Dungeons and Dragons, Pathfinder, Vampire the Masquerade, and World of Darkness, and I’ve written stories, or modules, as well for these role-playing games and have been in the position of Game Master for half those years, but it was a unique challenge to build a TTRPG from the ground up. The idea behind Urban Nights is namely about finding the humanity in monsters and the monstrosity in humans, with elements of horror and psychological play. While it satisfied the MFA requirements, I am still working on it and letting it grow organically as it further defines itself and becomes its own piece of media.

Damsel Bright

My pet novel project, Damsel Bright, started as a reimagined telling of a World of Darkness tabletop game I was a part of for four-five years, but I have painstakingly and patiently allowed it to become its own story. It has gone through several significant changes since I last spoke of it, but at its core, it’s about trauma and cosmic horror.

Touched by Death

A smaller project of mine, I’ve written several short pieces of fiction around the particular character, Claudia, and how she navigates life when she was gifted with the ability to see and interact with spirits after an accident that almost claimed her life. This story is still ultimately taking shape, but I liken it to a dark, horror-comedy that someday may reveal itself to me in the form it wants to be in.
